Help With Captain Rockhopper on Clubpenguin
The pirate Rockhopper is a infamous pirate penguin that regularly arrives at Club Penguin onboard his ship, the Migrator. He usually comes to the island every two months and usually his appearance heralds a big party. He comes along with his Yarr, his puffle companion. He always disembarks from the Migrator at the Beach. He always brings rare items from Rockhopper Island. These items are generally only for paid members in the game, but he always brings at least one free item with him that everyone can get.
Finding Rockhopper during his visit is a very popular and fun activity in Club Penguin. While he is visiting, he will often appear on one particular server at a time and move from room to room. The reward for finding him is a special player card background image showing Rockhopper and his autograph. When Rockhopper is online he appears just like a large red penguin except that he wears a pirate hat, and a long black beard which help him stand out.
The best way to know when Rockhopper is arriving is to had to the beacon on top of the lighthouse. There is a telescope there and you can look through it and see his ship when it's coming. His ship will begin to show up about a week or so before his arrival and every few days it will appear bigger and closer in the view from the telescope. In a well-known incident in early 2008, the Migrator struck a large iceberg and was heavily damaged. Rockhopper and Yarr used a lifeboat to reach the island safely and G led all of Club Penguin in an effort to rebuild Rockhopper's ship. This event led to the launch of a new game on Club Penguin called Aqua Grabber.
In order to spot Rockhopper when he is staying on the island, adhere to some basic strategies. Hunt for him during peak times (evenings and weekends) when he is most likely to appear. Team up with friends to locate him. Divide into search party teams and go to the popular servers. Use a Rockhopper Tracker to determine which server he is on and then go from room to room on that server. Don't worry and try to be patient. Often a great strategy is to select a popular server and simply wait for him to come to you.
